About the Digital Media Technology Program in The IT Academy at Jeff Tech |

Students have an inherent knowledge and familiarity with interactive media products such as video games, digital videos and digital photographs and this is enhanced through their direct exposure to industry-standard software such as Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Adobe Premiere and much more. The core of the program is based around the Adobe Cs4 Certified Associates Curriculum and integrates original lessons developed by Instructor Sam Ettaro with unique project-based learning opportunities. Welcome to the Digital Media Technology Program! First-year students receive hands-on instruction in the principles of computers, web and media development technologies and processes; design and development of digital communications; marketing and distribution; digital communications regulation, law and policy; the study of human interaction with, and use of, digital media; and emerging trends and issues. As they progress in their understanding of the basics, they move into increasingly more complex levels of project management and technological exploration. The DMT Shop Manages the Following Jeff Tech Special Media Projects: * Jeff Tech Marketing Videos, Brochures & Posters * Jeff Tech Website * JeffTech.TV (on-demand & live streaming) * Jeff Tech Yearbook * Jeff Tech Virtual Classrooms & Meeting Rooms Students gain the experience of working on "real-world" projects, not only for our school, but for the greter community as well! The DMT program directly addresses International Society for Technology in Education standards as well as academic standards through real-world application and classroom exploration. Students are introduced to the digital video camera, audio production booth and interactive web and special effects production through the Adobe Cs4 software suite and the equipment housed in our state-of-the-art IT Academy digital TV and web production studio. Our program also prepares students to apply HTML, XML, Javascript, graphics applications and other authoring tools to the design, editing and publishing of documents, images, graphics, sound and multimedia products on the World Wide Web. This program includes instruction in Internet theory, web page standards and policies, elements of web page design, user interfaces, vector tools, special effects, interactive and multimedia components, search engines, navigation, morphing, e-commerce tools, and emerging web technologies. This program includes instruction in Internet theory, web design standards and policies, assessing client needs, user interface design principles, user navigation, ethics and legalities of online content distribution, graphic development tools, interactive user input, multimedia content, search engine optimization, e-commerce technology, and emergent web technologies including security issues and communication standards. |
