Pre-Algebra (1 Credit or 126 Hours)

Pre-Algebra provides the bridge between Basic Mathematics and Algebra I. The course

focuses on building a solid foundation to ensure student success in high school

mathematics through an introduction of various mathematical concepts. These

concepts include the following areas: Arithmetic, Measurement, Algebra, Geometry, and

Probability and Statistics. This is accomplished through the use of both abstract

examples and real-world applications from career and technical areas. This contextual

approach to mathematics enables students to use critical thinking skills.
