The mission of the Jefferson County-DuBois Area Vocational-Technical School (JEFF TECH) Library/Media Center is to encourage students and staff to be effective users of ideas and information. The library will provide intellectual and physical access to materials in several formats.  The librarian and staff at the Jeff Tech Library/Media Center will instruct students to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas. We will strive for academic excellence shaped to prepare our students to be successful citizens and life-long learners. We will help to direct and challenge students toward lifetime skills and careers to fill their roles in a productive community.

Our goals at the Jeff Tech Library/Media Center are to provide materials that will enrich and support the curriculum taking into consideration the varied interests, abilities, learning styles and maturity levels of students served. We strive to use our materials to stimulate growth in factual knowledge, literacy appreciation, aesthetic values, higher level thinking skills and ethical standards.  We will provide materials on opposite sides of controversial issues so that students may, under guidance, develop discernment and critical analysis of all media. We will provide materials representative of the various religious, ethnic and cultural groups so that students understand their influence upon society and the world. We will provide a quality selection of fiction to encourage a lifelong enjoyment of reading.
