The Cosmetology program provides students the training required to become state licensed Cosmetologists. In the exciting world of beauty, the Jeff Tech Cosmetology shop is on the "cutting edge". Classroom instruction and clinical experiences provide the training needed to perform skills used in today's ever-changing industry.

To perform services effectively , students study the relationship among anatomy and physiology to the application of such skin, scalp, and hair care services. An understanding of chemistry is required for students to comprehend the affect of various products on the skin and hair.

Chemical procedures taught within the program include chemical hair relaxing, permanent waving techniques, hair decolorizing, hair coloring, and acrylic nail application. Manicuring, pedicuring, facials, and scalp, hair, and skin care treatments are part of the preservation treatments taught. Students are able to enhance their creative abilities through precision hair shaping, hair design, styling, and braiding. Students may also demonstrate and create flair in makeup application and nail art designs.

Creative advertising, designing a floor plan and business practices are also included in the salon management segment of the curriculum. Bacteriology, sterilization, sanitation, and safety are integrated into the comprehensive program of study.

Upon completion of this 1250 required-hour program, the student is prepared to take the state examination for an operator's license in the state of Pennsylvania. Employment opportunities are limitless, as cosmetologists elect to become hairstylists, hair colorists, nail technicians, aestheticians, hair or skin care specialists, makeup artists, lab technicians, beauty sales representatives, product demonstrators, platform artists, cosmetology teachers, salon managers, or salon owners.
