NTHS recognizes outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. Membership encourages higher scholastic achievement, promotes the desire for personal excellence, and helps students find success in the workplace.

NTHS helps member schools build and maintain effective partnerships with local business and industry as well as strengthens a more positive image for career and technical education.

Selection for membership is based on following National and Local standards

• Eligible students must have completed  10^th or 11^th grade at Jeff Tech as a full-time student
• Eligible students must be approved through a disciplinary review
• Eligible students must have an “A” average in shop
• Eligible students must have a “B” average in each academic class
• Eligible students must pass administration review
• Eligible students must obtain two recommendation forms submitted from Jeff Tech Staff Members

Students must be willing to participate in community service projects

Benefits for membership include scholarship opportunities, recruitment by top U.S. colleges and corporations, and letters of recommendation for employment, college, or scholarships. As well as NTHS membership certification, pin, card, window decal, white tassel and official NTHS diploma seal.
