What is P.U.L.S.E.

People Using Leadership Skills Effectively

P.U.L.S.E. is a leadership skills club that works within the North Central Youth Development System. The P.U.L.S.E. clubs meet at least once a month with the Youth Counselor from North Central and the designated P.U.L.S.E. facilitator at the school. The group plans community service projects to be done through out the school year.

Examples of projects done in the past three school years are:

  • Decorate a Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, that was given to a family in need in the area
  • Treats for “Meals on Wheels” recipients (such as carrot bags filled with jelly beans, fall leave decoration, fall and holiday potpourri bags)
  • Bowl for Kids Sake
  • Decorated and “un”decorated a local senior center for the holiday season
  • Planted trees on Jeff Tech property as a part of a reforestation project
  • Assisted with the displaying of United States Flags for the homecoming of local soldiers deployed to Kosovo
  • Assembled over 15 “Operation Christmas Child” for children in underdeveloped countries
  • Served as huggers for Special Olympics
