PSSA Taskforce Started on January 19th, 2010, Jeff Tech created a brand new committee, this committee is known as the P.S.S.A. Taskforce. The P.S.S.A. taskforce is made up of teachers as well as students; these students are hand selected by teachers for their leadership skills as well as their communication skills. Although these students only meet once a week, they work hard to find ways to motivate others to do well on their P.S.S.A. tests. This committee does everything that the students can possibly do to motivate their fellow students to do well. Everything from making posters to hang in the school that advertises ways to prepare for the P.S.S.A. tests to planning pep rallies and celebrations to be had after the test. This committee’s co-chairman includes Joshua (Ginger) Harris and Dustin James. The staff members include Joseph Gerzina, Educational Consultant Riverview Intermediate Unit #6; Aaron Fitzpatrick, P.S.S.A Reading Tutor; Laura Colgan, Librarian / P.S.S.A. Math Tutor; Theodore Kozloski, Jeff Tech Art Instructor; Sean Taladay, Jeff Tech Math Instructor; Samuel Ettaro, Jeff Tech Digital Media Technologies Instructor; John Kimmel, Jeff Tech Principal; All of these facility members care about their school and the students that attend; this is why they go out of their way to help establish such a committee. Even though this is only the first year, this committee has been a reality. It has already been a great success. There are already less students in fear of taking these tests and more motivation for the vast majority of all students taking the P.S.S.A. tests this year. Although there is not much time left before the P.S.S.A. tests, this year, the P.S.S.A. Taskforce will be helping students motivate themselves and help others overcome whatever fear they may have of these tests. The P.S.S.A Taskforce plans to be around for years to come, motivating more and more students every year.
