World CulturesWorld Cultures is a year long course whose goal is to foster understanding of the peoples of the world. A major goal of the course is to give students the access to information that will enhance their understanding of others within our own society, as well as throughout the world. Students will be expected to read independently, listen and respect differing opinions, and interpret information given in oral and written form. Current events will be studied, as well as historical data, in order to help students understand the reason for conflicts and the need for cooperation among all nations. Students will be using concepts in geography, economics, and history to study a full spectrum of World Studies.
