American History

This course is based on materials featured in the American History (McDougal-Littell) textbook. American History addresses the national standards and introduces the content and skills needed to meet them. American history is the story of not only the formation of our country, but of individuals and their extraordinary and ordinary achievements. This course will focus on the people, places, and events that shaped and influenced our nation. Materials included in this course will enable the student to define themes that arise and reappear throughout American history, including democratic ideals, citizenship, diversity and unity, impact of the individual, immigration and migration, economics in history, science and technology, expansion, and America and the world. (1 credit)
