Geometry (1 Credit or 126 Hours)

The primary focus of this Geometry course will be Analytic Geometry. This type of

geometry is the basis for Computer Aided Design/Computer Numerical Control

(CAD/CNC) tooling and design in manufacturing. Analytic Geometry is also the

mathematic concept behind modeling and design in computer games, some commercial

graphics, and Computer Generated Imaging (CGI). Elements from traditional Euclidean

Geometry will be addressed, including proof, inductive reasoning, and deductive

reasoning. This type of reasoning is the basis of the modern scientific method and

teaches problem solving skills. Where possible, examples from the different technical

areas will be used to reinforce and practice the material. Successful completion of this

course will prepare the student for the PSSA test and success in future math-related

fields.
